From the Google Dictionary, I share the definition of CELEBRATE: “acknowledge (a significant or happy day or event) with a social gathering”!!!
May 19th is PENTECOST – the birthday of the Christian Church. The St. John leadership could think of no better day than Pentecost to CELEBRATE a wonderful accomplishment – the paying off of our mortgage!
After years (7 ½ to be exact) of generous giving and careful financial management, St. John CELEBRATES paying off the mortgage in half of the time (the note was for 15 years).
THANK YOU to all who generously gave towards this effort! THANK YOU to the St. John leadership who made this effort a priority!
PLEASE plan to join us for worship on Sunday, May 19th – PENTECOST as we BURN THE MORTGAGE at the end of our worship service. And of course, there will be cake!
