Bits and Pieces from Pastor Matt

Although summer does not “officially” begin until June 21st – Memorial Day has come and gone, the temperatures are definitely warming up, school is out and the world is green and in full bloom!  So in my mind – summer is here!

AI states that when two or more songs are combined together it is called a “mashup”. So I have put my creative hat on and created a mashup of hymns to celebrate the arrival of summer:

Joyful, joyful we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love; hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above…

Rejoice you pure in heart; lift praises to the sky; your festive banner wave with joy, the cross of Christ raise high! Rejoice, Rejoice, Rejoice, give thanks and sing.

O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed…

Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning – born of the one light Eden saw play! Praise with elation, praise every morning, God’s recreation of the new day!

For the beauty of each hour of the day and of the night, hill and vale, and tree and flower, sun and moon, and stars of light, Lord of all to thee we raise – this our song of grateful praise.

Peace on the journey,

Pastor Matt
