Bits and Pieces from Pastor Matt
Sunday, October 4th is World Communion Sunday. Think about it – the entire Christian world taking communion together on the same day!
October 18th is CROP Walk Sunday! ALL proceeds are divided between Loaves and Fishes, the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Church World Service. “We walk because they walk.” There is info on how to participate elsewhere in the Newsletter.
October 25th is Memorial Sunday – if you have a loved one who has passed away since November 1, 2025, please share that information with me so that I can include them in the Pastoral Prayer on Memorial Sunday.
November 1st is Stewardship Sunday when we will present our 2027 pledge cards. Look for a letter in mid-October for your pledge card.
Finally, I wonder, have you ever considered doing the important work as a member of one of our Ministries? Christian Education, Facilities, Parish Life and Spiritual Life all function as the heartbeat of our congregation. I hope that 2027 is the year that you decide to step forward and share your talent and your effort as a member of one of our Ministries.
