Bits and Pieces from Pastor Matt
One of my favorite hymns is ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL which lyrics were penned by Cecil F. Alexander way back in 1848.
“All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, in love, God made them all.
Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors, and made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain, the river running by, the sunset, and the morning that brightens up the sky.
The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, the ripe fruits in the garden, God made them every one.”
AND then, God put us in charge of that creation!
April is Earth Month! According to the UCC website, “it can be a great time to further discern how to best answer our first calling as Christians: the caretaking of God’s creation.” Join us for a Celebration of Earth Day Clean-up following our Service on April 21st!
