All children and youth begin the worship service in the Sanctuary and leave for God’s Garden following the Time for Children section of the service.

Sunday School for Preschoolers through Fifth Grade at St. John is “God’s Garden” and currently utilizes a curriculum from Abingdon Press titled, “Deep Blue Connects”.  God’s Garden presents a Christmas Program during Advent; and conducts the entire worship service on a Sunday in late May which is a review of the year in God’s Garden.  Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, God’s Garden participates in an enrichment program.

The Youth Group is a service based group.  Under the guidance of the Pastor and the Christian Education Ministry, the youth undertake service projects as well as fellowship activities. In addition to attending the UCC National Youth Event in 2016; the Youth have done “Work Trips” in recent years to Michigan, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Washington D.C.; and “Education Trips” to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN and Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas.
